Meet Chris, the founder of OneSeed Expeditions. Over the past seven years, Chris has split his time between Nepal and the US. While in Nepal, he conducted research in Kathmandu and throughout the Khumbu region surrounding Mt. Everest. As a Fellow with Kiva.org, Chris worked closely with local microfinance institutions. Chris founded OneSeed in 2010 with friends Bishnu Thapa and Tek Bahadur Dong. He loves milk and makes a delicious pizza.

What was your first adventure?

When I was 12 years old, I was going to the airport with my dad. We were running late for a flight, and he looked at me and said “you can park this right?” So at 12, I parked the car while he ran into the airport to the ticket booth. We caught the flight.

Why did you start OneSeed Expeditions?

I had been working in microfinance in Nepal and really cared about small enterprise development. I tried to get up to the mountains as much as possible. It was also an excuse to get up to the mountains! OneSeed became a way to use one to power the other.

Do you prefer shoes, sandals, or bare feet?

Boots. Always.

How has travel shaped your life?

I no longer have to travel for vacations. Vacations are getting to come home.

How do you eat an Oreo cookie?

As fast as possible with a big glass of milk.
