This expedition includes 6 days of trekking in Northern Patagonia and 4 nights’ accommodations in Santiago.
Day 1: Upon your arrival to Santiago’s international airport, a OneSeed staff member will be there to greet you and take you to a our partner bed and breakfast, located at a ten minutes walk from La Moneda, Chile’s Presidential Palace. Catch up on some much needed sleep and settle into Chile’s capital city.

Day 2: After a restful night at our partner bed and breakfast, enjoy breakfast at the B&B before a guided city bike tour with a visit to a local market in Santiago, one of Latin America’s most modern cities. Meet your fellow expedition members at tonight’s welcome dinner. Enjoy and share some of Chile’s traditional dishes and, more importantly, its national drink, Pisco Sour!!. After dinner we’ll complete a final gear check before hitting the sack for the evening.

Day 3: Today, our guests will leave the metropolitan center of Santiago for Chile’s Lake District. After a short flight to Puerto Montt, you will be met by private transfer to head toward Puerto Varas about an hour from the head to the trail. As you drive to Puerto Varas, you won’t believe the breathtaking scenery that will greet you from the moment you leave town. The large glacier-formed valleys are filled with several enormous lakes, each with its own distinct form and coloration. To add to the already impressive sight, lush forests surround the entire area, contrasting spectacularly with the isolated peaks of the region’s drastic volcanic formations. Guests will spend the night in a cozy lodge about an hour from the trail head.

Day 4: After the restful night in our partner lodge near the trail’s head, the group will load up for an hour boat ride to the beginning of the trail in El Rincon. Beginning with a view of Lago Todos Los Santos and the rocky peaks that surround it, the group will head through open fields, leading to lush forests, eventually arriving at the Callao Hot Springs. Spend the night in a rustic lodge with access to these springs that keep a constant temperature near 104 degrees.
Approximately 6-7 hours of travel and trekking

Day 5: Leaving from the lodge near the springs, the group begins the trip’s most challenging day. Climbing Cerro Cenizo, reach a spectacular viewpoint to see the verdant fields, lakes, and rock formations that make up this zone. Upon returning to the lodge, guests can once again soak their tired bodies in the natural springs of Callao.
Approximately 6-7 hours of trekking.

Day 6: On the third day of hiking, the expedition heads toward Laguna Los Quetros, a dazzling blue lake surrounded by rolling, treed hills contrasted by abrupt peaks that may be covered by snow depending on the season. Our camp for the evening will be made near the lake. Be sure to taste some of the local honey, bread, and berries offered from the farm nearby!
Approximately 4-5 hours of trekking

Day 7: On the final leg of the trek we’ll pass several private farms as we arrive at Lake Repunco in Las Gaviotas. This is the perfect spot to take in the final moments of your scenic journey and enjoy a final night before returning to Santiago. Apple orchards, roaming sheep, a warm shower–and a celebratory beer–await you!

Day 8: Departing from Las Gaviotas you will have an hour boat ride to the trail head where you will be met by private transfer to take you back to Puerto Montt. A short flight from Puerto Montt returns us to Santiago to enjoy a free day of unwinding from the trek and exploring the bustling streets of the city.

Day 9: You’ve finished your expedition, now it’s time to celebrate! We will head to Chile’s famous Maipo Valley to mountain bike through local wineries, touring three local vineyards complete with lunch spread and wine tasting. After a satisfying afternoon biking through the vineyards and sampling local wines, return to Santiago for one last night.
